The part looks good Mick. It might be a little longer than the original, but I don't think it would really be a problem (other than not being 100% correct). I only say that, as the original pieces were square, thin, and easily broke. A little more meat on them sure wouldn't hurt.

For originality I'm going to try and replicate the original dimensions. From what I understand, ABS hardness / flexibility can vary drastically dependent on the mixture of it's constituent components. I think that as modern manufacturing processes are much more exacting the brittleness that caused the original items to fail should not be present.

The other consideration is degradation (and therefore brittleness) due to exposure to sunlight, but this is an issue that does not seem to be as prevalent nowadays - the widespread adoption of ABS within the auto industry in the late 80's / early 90's was mostly due to advancements in plastics at that time and cars from that era still seem to have the ABS elements intact.

Of course, I reserve my final judgement until after I have subjected some of the final design to a destruction test. :D

Been flat out busy with xmas preparations so have not had a chance to draft up the final design yet, will hopefully get a chance over the xmas break.

Please put me down for a set as well, would you have any interest in making the arm side as well?
I'm just looking at getting those made here but would not be worth having 2 people making the same thing.

Which part do you mean, the part that screws to the roof? or the part that clips into the sun visor clip?
