Has anyone found a T34 specific car cover?
My body man, Chris, works out of his home and while we are nearing completion of my T34 restoration, he is starting to get complaints from the city about his activities. Legally, he cannot work on an unlicensed car or one that is not his...

Thinking about adding b/u lights to my '67 in...Thinking about adding b/u lights to my '67 in the course of this restoration.
Finding used or aftermarket repro lights on the Samba is easy, but how were they mounted? Were brackets used, or the bumper drilled? I always thought they were mounted on top of the bumper, but in the 1968 "year by year changes" section, there's a photo that shows them mounted UNDER the bumper!
Were b/u lights ever STANDARD equipment in any market? And if so, how did the factory install them?
Any known problems installing the switch on the tranny? Thanx for your input.

I encouraged him to join the group AND to start manufacturing more 34 repro parts --- starting with the very unique T/S switch.
If you have his e-mail address (I'm a little too discrete to post it here - LOL) send him a note today in support of this great idea.
C'mon, Scottie!!! You know you WANT to!

Any advice out there on removal of rain gutter...Any advice out there on removal of rain gutter chrome?
The passenger side piece has a hole in it - someone apparently put a screw in it at some time in the past.... Chris and I are arguing whether to attempt removal or not.
Any advice on technique would be appreciated.
I have suggested loosening the rain gutter paint with stripper; Chris says leave it in place and just sand around it.
Is the chrome still available as a repro?
These are the last two pieces to remove from the exterior of the body....

Any suggestions for rain gutter chrome appreciated - know it can be difficult sometimes. Passenger side rain gutter moulding has whole drilled in the middle of it. Apparently, someone put a screw in it to hold it in place at one time! Anyone know if these are still available?
Spent some time tonight looking at other's Lotus White cars. It's a very elegant color IMHO. Can't wait to get it done late this spring.
Expect to win some show trophies this summer!

The name of the shop that did this very mediocre work is Bill Bedford Auto Body, Battle Creek, MI. They were the only shop in the local phone book that advertised "restoration work"." />

I...SUBJ: Bentley Type III manual worth a damn?
I bought the Bentley Type I ('70-79) manual back when I had my '74 143. I still use it with my '72 141 but must say, I'm not overly impressed. I've found a lot of things wrong with it - esp. when dealing with my old '74 (towards the end of production, I suspect VW substituted a LOT of parts - when I tried to rekey my locks to match, I found the steer Show more
