Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a descent 34 for about € 5000. I was hoping to buy this one on http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=646285 but it seems to be sold (only the guy didn't found it necessary to tell me :-S anyhow...) Then there is this guy asking € 7500 for this one http://www.2dehands.be/vw-karmann-ghia-type34-s-52434217.html?qq=karmann%20ghia%20type%2034 it's the white car I'd be interested in... And then there is this one as well, also from Belgium http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=670920 but I don't trust this one :-S

Any comments on these cars are MORE than welcome, but my question is:

How difficult (read: expensive) is it to ship a type 34 from California for instance to Europe? Are there any companies doing this? I read lots of stories on people who restored an American imported car. Is this interesting to consider or not?

Finally I found this car too, on ebay in Switzerland

The white ’67 would be a fair deal I guess… Jurgen has been around in the T34 scene for a long time and I’m sure he can tell you all he details and history about that specific car. Are you sure about the asking price (add says 10000€)…?

I know of another T34 for sale in Belgium, a very original ’69 automatic (…no, not mine), but that one is in a much higher price range :|

Here you can find other type 34's in Belgium.
The white one as you call him is only primer, the owner wants you to get it in the colour you desire.
Before he was done he was red and it was allready a fine car.
Why the guy decided to restore him, I don't understand.
When you look at all the parts that are coming with the car it is a good price I think.
When you have to look for rubbers, good chromework, ... you will find it a reasonable price.

For importing a car to Belgium look for importers of US cars (old mustangs, chevy's, ... and ask them to bring it.
They have hard times at the moment so maybe they leave some space for your car in the next container.
Costs????

Greetz from Belgium,
