Make your Ghia run faster with a new Type 34 Registry sticker!*
Well, the first 3 weeks of our new website have been a huge hit. We've had over 3,000 visits to the site which is about three times as many Type 34s as there are known to exist! We had a minor glitch that took the site offline for almost a whole week, but even with that the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
The first thing we wanted to add to the site is the Official Type 34 Mailing List. So, now if you look to your left you should see a link to it. Feel free to come over and sign up. This will not be a HUGE traffic list, but you should expect to get between 0 and 30 emails a day of Type 34 related stuff. If you have technical questions, feel free to ask them there. If you have questions about a particular car, ask away. If you want to know about the next event to bring your Type 34 too, that'll be a place to get the info. Of course, all of this info can also be posted or read about in our Forums. But we know that some people prefer to talk via email. This list will be Moderated by our own long-distance (to us) member Daniel Baum. He was running a Type 34 Mailing List already, so we thought it would be a great match.
Read more below to get some more info on upcoming changes and additions to the site.
Next I'd like to talk about some new additions to the site besides the Mailing List. I've scanned in the entire Type 34 section of the Type 3 Parts List. This will be available very soon and is a GREAT reference. Eventually the entire Type 3 Parts List will be available along with all of the diagrams and descriptions. The next step after that will be to have the whole list searchable through a database. We look forward to providing that to you.
What about those great Featured Cars. You've seen these cars listed on the front page. So far, all of the cars have been prime, mint examples of Type 34-ness. We'd like to show EVERY type of Type 34, from the mint stock cars to the rusted out basket cases in progress to full crazy custom cars. All you need to do is send me your story and some photos. Thanks to everyone who's submitted stories so far! We're looking for more, so send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
One more thing before I go...you've seen the Registry Store llisted on the left. This link takes you to where you can buy all of the cool Type 34 Registry gear you could ever want. PLUS, there's a link that makes it easier than EVER to buy rubber for your Ghia. We're eventually going to be adding other items, such as reprints of the Parts List, collections of back issues of the old newletter The Razor's Edge and other great items. Buying any of these items (except the rubber, that's just there to make your resto go easier!) really helps us keep this website up and running. Plus, you get cool shirts, hats, stickers, clocks, etc! It's a win-win situation.
Ok, that's it for now. Get out on the site and have a great time! Let us know if there's anything you'd like to see added. We're trying to make this THE site for Type 34 Ghias, and we want your input.
* Note, your speed may vary! But your Type 34 will look MUCH cooler!
